Darcy Hooded Infinity Scarf PDF Sewing Pattern
Style # 2042 Difficulty: - 1 / 5
Description:
A Reversible Hooded Infinity Scarf that can be pulled back into a large scarf or cowl/snood/pashmina scarf around the neck - an easy beginners sewing project for wovens or knits (or combine the two). Perfect for those windy days. This is also known as a Scoodie (Scarf-Hoodie). There are two types of hood options.
Sew this in one fabric, or sew a contrast on the inside - you can even use a different fabric on the centre of the hood for View B
View A
- Centre head seam - OSFM and Extra Large
View B
- Contrast piece at the centre head - a 3 piece hood - OSFM
Fit Information:
The pattern is a One Size Fits Most for both Views.
This is not a hood attached to an infinity scarf, this is a hood integrated with the scarf itself
Please see the "More Information" tab for further details
UPDATE: November 2020 - A new Trim file has been added - this contains a layer with a larger size hood pattern for View A - this is the white scarf in the images - it is deeper and wider
Fabric Information:
This is a pattern can be used for both knit fabrics and woven fabrics - or combine them
For best results please choose fabrics with a stretch that matches - if the outer is a woven fabric, please choose a fabric with minimal stretch for the lining, or if you have a very stretchy knit for the outer, choose a very stretch knit for the lining.
The design is best sewn in medium weights knits such as Sweatshirting, French Terry, Hatchi, Ponte de Roma - there is a large list of available choices for both the knit or woven fabrics - please see the "More Information" tab for further details.
This pattern needs to use 150cm - 60" wide fabric - if your fabric is not quite wide enough, just move the foldline placement down, this will not affect the fit of the hood, just slightly change the length.
Construction Information:
This pattern is reversible
A full written booklet with photo step-by-step sewing guide is included.
There is also a sew-a-long on my Youtube channel for those who prefer more visual instructions - you can access it in the image carousel
The pattern is very easy sewing
