Style # 1838 Difficulty: - 2 / 5
An off the shoulder raglan swing sweater with a crossover front XXS-3XL
- Raglan Sleeves
- Cross Body Wide Collar
- Off the Shoulder
- Swing Fit Body
- Your choice of full length or 3/4 sleeves
- Optional Back Band
- View A collar is sewn to the centre front neckline so the top can be worn without straps
- View B has straps: a scoop neckline with a neckband finish, and the collar hangs free from the shoulders.
The pattern is a multi-size pattern to fit the size range of XXS-3XL
It is designed for a firm fit at the shoulders, with a swing shape over the stomach and hips.
The fullness is controlled by the collar and back band, creating an empire line silhouette.
The back band is optional.
The size guide is included with the Information Sheet in the downloads when you purchase this pattern - you can also see a screenshot of this page in the images here
It is important you choose the size that fits your upper body correctly (shoulders and arms)
Designed for winter or transeasonal knits.
Please purchase a knit fabric - jersey - that has at very good stretch as the garment requires this to fit properly. A suggested stretch is 80% plus.
Please choose stable knits with good recovery. For looser knits/sweater knits View B will give better results
This is designed as a "loose" fit raglan. You may need to size down if you prefer a fitted look
The "Undershirt" Actual Bust measurement is: XXS-94cm-37": XS-97cm-38 3/16":S-100cm-39 3/8": M-106cm-41 3/4": L-112cm-44 1/16": XL-118cm-46 7/16": 2XL-125cm-49 3/16": 3XL-133cm-52 3/8". For full bust adjustments, as long as your bust is within this range, simply add width to the Collar Band and Back band only.
Hint: To keep off-shoulder garments in place - to make them stay off the shoulder, sew a short length of elastic on each side from underarm to the same underarm - this will still allow you to move your arms freely (including over your head) but when you put them down the "off-shoulder" will still be in the right place
This is a professionally drafted fashion industry construction pattern, which I have made and graded to industry standard guidelines.
A Construction Sequence is included.
A Sew-A-Long Video is included
