A beginners sewing pattern for an on trend bucket style sun hat for summer sun protection.

Unisex design that can be made reversible.

The sun hat has optional topstitching detail, a circular crown so you can never wear it the wrong way, and a downward sloping brim.

View A: Regular length brim

View B: Band insert and topstitched extended length brim

Fit Information:

The pattern is a multi-size pattern to fit the size range of 20-26 inches (XXS-2XL) 51-66 cm

To find your size - measure your head circumference and choose the size closest

XXS - 20 inches - 51cm

XS - 21 inches - 53 cm

S - 22 inches - 56 cm

M - 23 inches - 58 cm

L - 24 inches - 61 cm

XL - 25 inches - 63 cm

2XL - 26 inches - 66 cm

Fabric Information:

This is a pattern designed for woven fabrics

For best results please choose medium to heavy weight wovens such as Drill, Denim, Cotton Duck or Canvas.  Other fabrics such as Linen, Cottons, Drill or Twill weaves can be used - most fabrics would benefit from using a layer of medium to heavy weight fusible interfacing such as Buckram/Crinoline to give structure and help hold up the Brim.

Please ensure before you print that your printer settings are set to "DO NOT SCALE" (Print actual size)

Please print the page with the test square as a single print job before you send the full pdf document to the printer, with your printer settings on "do not scale". This will print a test size square which you can measure to ensure the pattern will print to the correct size. There is a square of 10cm, and a square of 4inch

These print in black ink with grainlines in red ink. You may prefer to change your print settings to "draft" to save ink.

You will need Adobe Reader to read the file and a printer to print out the pattern.
