An easy peasy project for a beginner with the wow factor. A triangle wrap scarf with closure - choose a button and buttonhole or purchase a toggle set - or choose from a wide variety of snap type closures. You could even have no button and just sew a buttonhole and pass the end of the scarf through the opening.  A modern and trendy gaiter or neck warmer for winter to beat the chill - an update on the classic western style neckerchief

This will suit a wide variety of fabrics - use a knit or a woven or combine the two

There are 2 size options - adult and child/teen

Trims:

Please purchase a toggle set, or you can use a button with a buttonhole (if you purchase 2 buttons you can make the scarf reversible), you can use a button with a loop, or a snap set.

Fabric Information:

This is a pattern designed for both knit and woven fabrics.  Will suit a wide variety of fabric choices.

For best results please choose medium weight winter fabrics and try and match the stretch as much as possible - try not to go over a 20% difference.  Looks great with a backing in squish, sherpa or fleece with a contrast fabric front.  You can use all sorts of fabrics from suiting weight wovens through to cuddle fur. Please see the "More Information" tab for further details on fabric choices. If you have "floppy" fabrics and want more structure, just add a layer of medium weight sew-in interfacing.

The red plaid scarf in the images was an poly/acrylic twill weave winter weight with a Sherpa lining and I added a layer of sew in interfacing for body.  The green/black was made in black micro fleece with a stretch knit nylon and the black with flowers was a winter jacketing weight acrylic with a lining of Orange Merino/Nylon Ribbing

Please ensure before you print that your printer settings are set to "DO NOT SCALE" (Print actual size)

Please print the page with the test square as a single print job before you send the full pdf document to the printer, with your printer settings on "do not scale". This will print a test size square which you can measure to ensure the pattern will print to the correct size. There is a square of 10cm, and a square of 4inch

These print in black ink with grainlines in red ink. You may prefer to change your print settings to "draft" to save ink.

You will need Adobe Reader to read the file and a printer to print out the pattern.
